KRYPTONITE - PART 2

One wise man did give his view on my post regarding kryptonite and I quot here verbatim,

What makes superman, superman is becoz of kryptonite, not Lois Lane, not anything else. Without kryptonite, he is just another average joe, like any other human being walking the planet earth. Kryptonite is what differentiates superman and everyone else. It's the only thing that defines him as who he is...His weakness. Even if it kills him, the truth about the subject is, that superman is nothing without kryptonite. It is what completes him.

Well, a good viewpoint, I guess....

KYRPTONITE

I was watching Smallville the other day and there was one scene when our mighty hero, Clark Kent, howsoever powerful and with his mighty alien superpower got weak when a small green stone were hurled at him. A small green stone? insignificant to all other people, to all other human being yet can be so powerful to only one person? Illogical? What was in the mind of Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster when they created this cultural icon character in 1932?

This green mineral debris can nullifies Superman's powers and immobilises him with pain and nausea...prolonged exposure will eventually kill him. And the only thing than can protect him for this green thang is lead which can block the radiation....

If Superman need to be strong and healthy both in mind and body for him to be "faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, and able to leap tall buildings in a single bound" he needs to be far far away from that green thing call KYRPTONITE...

Everybody does not want to be vulnerable...everyone does not want to be weak... its understandable that if you are in that situation, you will probably run away as far as you can from that thing than can make you weak... Its all about realizing and understanding what can move us or shake us and making the ultimate decision for it...

SALAM EIDUL FITRI 2009

Eidul Fitri ...the day come and go so fast as the fasting month itself and all we know we are already in the last quarter of 2009...2010 is just around the corner.......that is how fast time flies....

Unlike previous rayas, which were kind of dull and boring, surprisingly this year was hectic but cheerful. Reason being, we had more visitors this year from near and distant relatives. Why the influx? I guess it must be tied to my mum who has now become the oldest surviving member in her family and as such, has become an important figure for her grand nephews and nieces to come and pay respect. One family even stayed over and making our loud family even louder hehe... We did not take family picture this year but below were selected pictures concerning this year raya in my family.....

MY ADVICE FOR MYSELF

I had once given an unsolicited advise to a friend when he encountered a problem. Dunno if I managed to help him with those words..nonetheless, now I need those words back for my own purpose... here goes..

DALAM menghadapi apa juga masalah, dua asas penting perlu diyakini dan dihayati iaitu setiap perubahan bermula daripada diri kita sendiri seperti termaktub dalam al-Quran yang bermaksud: “Sesungguhnya Allah tidak mengubah apa yang ada pada sesuatu kaum sehingga mereka mengubah apa yang ada pada diri mereka.”

Kedua, ketika berhadapan dengan manusia, walau siapapun mereka, kita mesti ingat bahawa manusia adalah makhluk yang tidak sunyi daripada kelemahan dan mempunyai pelbagai harapan yang tidak mungkin dipenuhi dan dicapai kesemuanya. Dalam hal ini terdapat satu ungkapan berbunyi, ‘mengharap keredaan semua manusia itu adalah satu matlamat yang tidak mungkin dicapai’.

Berlandaskan dua asas tadi, kita boleh hadapi masalah ini daripada dua perspektif iaitu pertama, melihat ke dalam. Maksudnya lihat kelemahan dan kekurangan yang ada pada diri sendiri. Terima segala kesulitan yang dihadapi sebagai ujian. Hidup ini memang medan ujian. Ujian diturunkan sama ada dalam bentuk kesenangan atau kesusahan. Jika kita sabar menghadapi ujian kesusahan, dosa kita diampuni, darjat kita diangkat tinggi. Begitu juga jika kita bersyukur menerima ujian kesenangan.

Kedua, melihat ke luar. Maksudnya setiap manusia ada hak dan tanggungjawab terhadap satu sama lain. Jangan harapkan perubahan berlaku serta-merta. Allah amat mengetahui dan akan menunjukkan kepada kita sama ada yang baik atau buruk, sama ada kita suka atau benci.

Kadangkala kita terlalu cepat menghukum. Apabila kita mendapat berita duka, kita pantas berkata, ini tidak bagus. Tetapi benarkah itu tidak bagus? Mungkin itu bagus. Cuma kita belum tahu hikmah di sebaliknya. Setiap yang berlaku dalam kehidupan kita mesti mempunyai sebab. Kita lahir di dunia mempunyai sebab. Cuma kita mungkin kurang sabar. Kita mahukan jawapan atau perubahan berlaku dengan serta-merta. Kita perlu bersabar dan bijak membuat keputusan supaya tidak menimbulkan masalah pada masa depan. Hidup perlu diteruskan!

I had told someone that I believe one day he will become a successful person. I still do. And I hope he will believe in himself and have the courage that he can be the one. With positive support and encouragement from his close friends and family members, I have no doubt he will pull through whatever barriers come what may......and lead a fruitful life, the one that he is hoping to achieve, InsyAllah.

As for me...I just believe in this one song....and I am singing it every night in the bathroom, the only time that I think I have the best voice ever, .... who isn't,....hehe....

I DONT KNOW MY OWN STRENGTH

THE WAITING IS OVER, that statement was printed on the offical website from one of my greatest singer of all time, recently. Yup, I am talking about the highly anticipated birth of Ms. Whitney Houston's latest album entitled I LOOK TO YOU. I have heard all of the songs in the album and I must say I am quite impressed with most of the songs. The fast numbers were catchy and the ballads, sultry. To the 80's beloved, Whitney was the biggest singing icon together with Madonna, Tina Turner, Bonnie Tyler and the likes. She was the better crooner, her voice was legend, her delivery, superb. But that was then...

Unlike her memorable dramatic soprano, she can only now delivers in mezzo soprano but despite that, her delivery is still mesmerizing. Being a seasoned singer with an attitude and the songs penned by renowned composers and producers such as Alicia Keys, Akon, Diane Warren, David Foster you can aspect nothing less than good tunes.

One track that really touch me personally is a ballad, written by multiple grammy winner, Diane Warren and her multiple grammy winner producer, David Foster. The name of the song is I Didn't Know My Own Strength. The song was supposedly in relation to her pain and her conviction for a better life.

Last Saturday, I met with a unique person worth mentioning.... Her story will be in my next or later post, InsyAllah.

This last few days, I have encountered one problem... I really don't know what to eat for 'berbuka' ... I have no idea what to eat. The best part of it was that, one day I went to a Mamak Restaurant in Endah Parade and ordered a simple Maggie Mee Curry Soup and in all its simplicity, it was the best food for me in that week...hehe..

A BEGINNING OF A NEW DAY

Life is a vicious cycle - I heard that quotation before and fully understand what its means...same as what Heidi Klum's famous phrase..'one day you are in, the next you are out'...

que sera sera, what ever will be will be, the future is not ours to see, que sera sera.......

Come what may...a new day has come - Celine Dion...and I embrace it with open arms... the noises have ceased.... the turbulence subsides ...right or wrong, the path has never been clear, the road has never been unwinding and yet we move...willingly or unwillingly, heart full or heartless, but still human in its drumbeat.... human in all its emotions albeit in denial of what is true or not.... what is happiness or what is not... what is love or what is not...

its the feeling inside .... sometimes strong and sometimes weak... and it that feeling the world can go topsy turvy from what you believe, shattering the living daylight of your understanding on hope and dreams for better hope... the surface and the inside varies indiscriminately only to yourself, blinded to others your prayers answered...not need to know, for they know and if they know, i don't care....

ANUAR ZAIN'S CONCERT, MOVIES AND SPA

Went to Istana Budaya again on Thursday for Anuar Zain's Lelaki Ini concert. Unlike Siti's Satu, this full house concert was more personal in nature. No guest artiste, no dancers, no moving props, its solely Anuar and the orchestra on stage..all eyes and ears were focus on him and him alone in that sense..the kinda of Josh Groban or Micheal Buble concert...I think it was a tough job to attract the audience this way but Anuar is not new in the entertainment business, he knows well how to please his fan especially the ladies ..yup those who did not mind losing their voices screaming for him relentlessly. And yes, he charmed them all with his famous songs and powerful vocal, cheeky gestures.

20 songs for the nite....

You went and sang along with the likes of, Keabadian Cinta, Jangan Bersedih Lagi, Bila Resah and the three last memorable songs, Ketulusan Hati, Lelaki Ini and ending aptly with, Perpisahan. A few Malaysian artistes seen at the concert were, Datok Siti Nurhaliza and Datok K, Ning Baizura, Betty Benafe, Fazli Zainal and Ally Iskandar. Looking at this successful concert, I would think, IB and other well known sponsors should open up to give more talented Malaysian artiste to perform there, a full concert instead of the usual tribute to certain person in which a bunch of other artistes will sing a couple of songs. Why not give Jacyln Victor, Misha Omar, Ziana Zain, Dayang Nurfaizah a chance. I am sure their fans won't mind paying a little bit more to see their idols singing in such a prestigious place..

FRIDAY - THE PAVILION

Last Friday, A and I watched two movies in the Pavilion, 17 Again at 10.30pm and Ice Age 3 in 3D at 12.30am. I had a low expectation before watching 17 Again knowing before hand the story was about ..people who made mistake in the past and given a second chance to redeem it by being young again...yup does not sound so original and new but my expectation was wrong. Surprisingly, this is a good movie. As a light comedy, it tickles you with witty jokes and funny characters unlike any slapstick movies you normally see. Zac Afron, Matthew Perry and his loony housemate were delightful to watch.


Ice Age 3 was a different thrill altogether. Watching it on 3D had a added sense of feeling to the movie in terms of proximity.. it seemed that all those things were so near you and as if you were in the movie too.. . What can you expect from this animated movie other that good storyline, outrageous characters, warm feeling of love, brotherhood and friendship couple with adventure and suspense and off course outright funny. Go see and enjoy it yourself.


I also did watch Obsessed staring Beyonce Knowles on DVD. Again not an original piece as it dealt with one sicko girl played by Ali Larter who will do everything to get her boss i.e Beyonce's husband. Sound familiar? A bad and lame choice of a movie compared to Fatal Attraction, where no one can be a bad ass girl other than Glen Close in that awesome thriller movie..such a waste of Ms B's talent. The slow pace, no twist and boring plot will make you want to fast forward it to see to the end when someone dies...opsss my bad...

This old classic is a gem..

Apart from that, friends did ask me how do I find Transformer, Revenge of the Fallen...nope, the answer is not in the cinema, my dear dimwit...off course it is a good movie but ermm yup a small significant but, will be...like any good food, if it is too much herbs and spices..it will definitely leaves a funny taste..a bad analogy, I know, but you good people understood what I meant by that.

SATURDAY - TRUE SPA

Last Saturday, I was invited by my sister to go to True Spa in Jaya 33, PJ in which she is a member. There are many spa treatments there to choose from and even as a member you need to book for their services two weeks in advance. My sister and my brother in law chose the hot stone aromatherapy massage with free hdyrobath therapy. I tried the Swedish massage with free foot spa afterwards. They separated the male and female massage area (unless you come as a couple, they will provide you with a VIP couple suite). The male section is situated in a big luxurious tent outside of the building overlooking the swimming pool.

The massage took around 1.5 hours to complete. Later, the therapist took me to the next tent where I sat on a specially made massaging chair with Jacuzzi type box where while massaging my back, I soaked my feet into it.

The whole process took about 20 minutes. The therapist then did a reflexology massage on both my feet for 15 minutes each. The Swedish massage cost about RM99.00 and the hot stone aromatherapy massage is RM198.00. Off course, I don't have to pay for it but I later bought my sister to a late lunch at Cozy's, a branch of Ampany Park's Cozy inside Jaya33. We have decided to come again to True Spa early August for other pampering treatment. Pure bliss....
